PDP releases press statement on AIT ban, says it's dangerous for democracy

Image
Press statement from the PDP on AIT ban, which the APC has since lifted.. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as unacceptable the  Monday’s  directive by the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to bar a television house, the AIT, from covering his activities, saying the suppression of the media under any guise portends danger for the nation’s democracy. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement  on Tuesday  said that after carefully studying the defence posited by General Buhari’s campaign spokesperson as well as the smokescreen statement by the APC to cover and mitigate his anti-media posture, the PDP and indeed all lovers of democracy are persuaded that the action was not only unjustifiable, but also unconstitutional and completely against the spirit of liberty and the rule of law in a democracy. He said “the PDP as a party that have nurtured the nation’s democracy in the past 16 years cannot afford to fold its hands and watch the consti

Nigerian men are snatching our wives – South African Politician

Image
South African politician, Makashule Gana, has said some of his compatriots have complained to him that they are angry with Nigerians and other immigrants because they snatched their girlfriends. Gana, a Deputy Federal Chairperson of Democratic Alliance, made this disclosure in at an anti-xenophobia rally, held at Constitution Hill. South African newspaper, City Press, reported that Gana advised that rather than get angry and take the anger out on foreigners, South African men should “provide” properly for women, rather than lash out at non-nationals for “stealing” women away. Gana urged the crowd at the rally to spread the message of not taking part in xenophobic attacks to “our wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, makhwaphenis (secret lovers), neighbours and brothers”. “If you can’t speak to a girl, now all of a sudden a man that comes from Zimbabwe or Nigeria that can speak to a girl now must be killed. What is that?” “So I ask my fellow brothers from South Africa,

See Photos Of Goodluck Jonathan's Otueke's Luxury Island Villa Home

After May 29, President Goodluck Jonathan will leave the Aso Villa. PUNCH's Simon Utebor was at the President’s Otuoke, Bayelsa State- country home where he is expected to retire to. The air around the sprawling estate, he says, is amazingly cool. Looking around, the answer to this quickly dawns on him. The estate is opposite a creek, and the rolling breeze keeps coming. It is Otuoke, the home town of President Goodluck Jonathan. Otuoke is a small island community in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. And there, the estate sprawls over a large expanse of land contrasting sharply with its rustic surrounding. It is said to belong to President Jonathan. On the long road to the gates, soldiers and members of other security agencies, apparently on sentry duty, walked on the grounds. The overall air suggested guarded and protected serenity. No one needs the gift of clairvoyance to understand they are approaching a restricted zone. Behind the gates,

The Church Is Leading You Straight To Hell - Etcetera Warns

Image
Etcetera came for the churches in his new article. Hmm... read what he has to say first and let's hear your thoughts. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent. – Revelation 3:19. Much of the church today is living a lie. Many of you have been told continuously that you are saved and headed for heaven. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Many of you are heading directly to hell. The systemised lying that is going on in the church has deceived the pastors and the people alike. It is a case of the blind leading the blind. You all need to pray – fervently because many of you are “lost”. No matter what you call me, no matter how you view this issue, no matter what position you have, no matter what church you attend, you have to admit that something is wrong with the church. Below are eight facts why the church is leading you straight to hell: There is almost no evidence whatsoever that the early church had their “services” on a Sunday. They gathered
